Thanks to everyone (anyone?) who followed me over from my old blog site. I am so sorry for lack of posts and now this change of URL. Unless something goes horribly awry with WordPress.com there should be no more moves! ^_^;

I do hope you’ll take a moment to RSS my new blog–the links should be at the bottom of this page.  I have lots of new art and crafts to blog about–I just need to get off my tuckus and do it!

So look for new posts soon! ^_^

Eet iz MIIIINE!

Eet iz MIIIINE!

I ordered this Gocco PG-5 kit from Etsian, feltcafe this morning. A link to her Gocco tutorial was posted on the CRAFT: Magazine blog this morning so I raced over to buy one just in case there was a run on her shop. As of this writing there is only one PG-5 left in her shop (though she can get more…and she can get other Gocco machines and supplies as well).

I rummaged around in my old files and came across a WIP Illustrator piece intended to be a t-shirt design. With a little adjustment I think it will suit well for a Gocco print. I’m tempted to use googly eyes instead of actually printing them. ^o^

WIP

Yes, it’s another Boston Terrier. I actually own a Basenji but my folks have always had Bostons and their smooshed noses, wonky eyes and general goofiness inspire me to recreate them in my art.

Speaking of Bostons, the little felt guy in my previous entry has been posted to eBay in an attempt to help cover my splurge on the Gocco. ^_^;

After a few false starts I’m finally getting around to starting a proper blog. I don’t know why but I always get this feeling like I have to be an excellent writer in a public blog post. I’m trying to get over that but I apologize in advance if my spelling and grammar are off. ^_^;

Well, everyone wants photos, right? I know I love blogs with lots of photos so I will try to have lots of photos here as well. For starters, how about this little needle felted Boston Terrier I made recently…

Boston Terrier (front)

He’s about 4″ tall and made entirely from wool except for his handmade glass eyes, embroidered details and collar buckle.

I really love needle felting. It’s so satisfying to see these little forms come to life in my hands. Plus, it’s a portable hobby and I can do it anywhere and it’s not very messy. I’ve received a lot of questions about needle felting so I am planning some tutorials to cover basic techniques. I need to get a manicure before I start photographing my hands though. ^o^
